Sebastian Holmby Hansen

I’m an industrial PhD student researching machine learning algorithms for money laundering, with a specific focus on graph-based methods and trade-based money laundering. At the University of Copenhagen (Department of Computer Science), I’m supervised by Oswin Krause and Raghavendra Selvan. At the Danish Financial Intelligence Unit, I’m supervised by Dorte Hermansen. In the spring of 2026 I was a visiting researcher at Universiteit Utrecht (School of Economics), where I was hosted by Joras Ferwerda. My PhD is partly funded by a “Erhversforsker” grant from Innovation Fund Denmark and partly from the Danish FIU.
